- Duralabel Employees Exceed 2019 Toy Drive Goals
Employees of Duralabel, a global leader in visual communication solutions for compliance and safety, opened their hearts and wallets by bringing in droves of new toys, clothes, and other gifts benefiting Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland for the second year in a row. Workers smashed the previous donation record with 650 items.
"Spending time in the hospital isn't ideal, especially during Christmas, and especially if you're a kid," said Christine Torres, public relations specialist at Duralabel. "There was fierce competition from both teams, which was great for morale and for the children staying at Doernbecher over the holidays. We're excited to contribute joy to the kids."
Staff were equally divided into two teams. The goal was to gather the most toys, with the losing team succumbing to wearing random ugly holiday sweaters. Duralabel employees have been supporting local toy drives for years. In 2018, 578 toys were collected for Doernbecher and 437 were hauled in for Toys for Tots in 2017.
